Tourism in Matalascanyas
At the same beach we can contemplate the remains of the Higueras tower, a former monitoring tower from which only a part of its foundation remains.
One of the attractions of Matalascañas is the closeness to the village of El Rocío, as it doesnt have cultural monuments and museums to visit... this remains a highly protected area, as of the closeness from the Park of Doñana mentioned above.
Before becoming an urbanized area, there were huts, but now a days that practice no longer exists, however, we still can enjoy some very clean beaches with green bluish water and fine sand. During the weekends its very crowded, as there are a multitude of buses filled with tourists from other parts of Huelva.
The dunes near the beach, are an ideal place to observe the meteorite rains during the night, also known as the tears of Lawrence in August. This beach is also the most visited one by the Sevillians.
The area has an intense nightlife, as it has lots of fun in the evening, both, on the beach and at the promenade. The people here are very friendly, what makes the visitors enjoying the treatment they are receiving and the accumulated memories of those days are unforgettable, for many tourists its one of the unique beaches at our coastline.
